Resumen
Economists have long stressed the importance of human capital to the process of economic growth. In regional science, it has been widely recognized that young and highly educated individuals tend to be more migratory, displaying a significant degree of positive self-selection. Understanding the dynamics and motivations of migration patterns of young and highly skilled individuals means understanding the future development paths of different regions and possibly being able to help those lagging behind. This special issue provides new and cutting-edge contributions on the phenomenon of human capital migration in a variety of different geographical contexts, using novel data and methodological perspectives.
